Become a Mentor

As a graduate of Aspen University, you know firsthand the value of the education and experiences you gained here. We are excited to announce a new mentorship program that will connect alumni like you with current students, providing another source of support to help guide them through their academic and professional journeys.

As a mentor, you’ll have the opportunity to:

    • Give Back: Share your experiences, insights, and advice with students who are navigating the same path you once did.
    • Develop Leadership Skills: Mentorship allows you to hone your communication and leadership abilities while guiding the next generation of professionals.
    • Expand Your Network: By building relationships with current Aspen students, you can enhance your personal and professional connections.
    • Gain Personal Fulfillment: There’s something gratifying about helping someone else succeed. You’ll not only help students grow but also learn from them as they bring fresh perspectives and ideas.

Desired Qualifications:

    • Availability to fully commit to 6 months of meeting regularly (at least once per month) after being assigned to a mentee
    • Be a graduate of Aspen University
    • Appreciation for, and sensitivity to, cultural differences and respect for diverse perspectives and experiences
    • Maturity in handling confidential and personal information
    • Possess active listening skills and tools to engage mentees

For students, having a mentor like you can make a world of difference, especially in the context of distance learning. It can provide them with valuable guidance, encouragement, and practical advice, helping them feel more confident in their academic and career paths.

Aspen will help make the initial match. After that you and your mentee will discuss the expectations and goals of your relationship. We require that mentors be available to meet virtually at least once per month for 6 months. We also recognize that some of you may want to continue longer – and that is definitely encouraged!

If you’re interested in volunteering to be a mentor, we’d love to hear from you! Please fill out the application form below.

Mentor Sign-Up Form

Please note that you will be partnered with a mentee based on availability, program of study, and the areas of interest/goals you have listed on your application. There is no guarantee that a mentee will be assigned. In the event that there is a high volume of participation, potential mentors may be placed on a waitlist while they are being connected to the most appropriate mentee to ensure a meaningful connection can be established.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our students. We look forward to your involvement!

Become a Preceptor

In an effort to assist current students in finding a Preceptor for their MSN Practicum, MPH Internship, or DNP Project, Aspen University is building a database of graduates who are interested in serving as preceptors. This database will be used by the Office of Field Experience to help connect students with preceptors. If interested, please fill out the form below.
