Harry Brelsford, MBA

Dean, School of Technology

Harry Brelsford holds both a BSBA and MBA from the University of Denver (and numerous certifications such as MCSE, MCT, CNE, et al) and is the author of 17 best selling technical books. Harry is the CEO of SMB Nation (www.smbnation.com) from Bainbridge Island, WA. He is a long-time SMB channel partner who has served customers and mentored other partners and created the popular SMB Nation worldwide events including Webinars, workshops, and multi-day conferences. He is also the publisher of SMB Partner Community magazine. His most recent books include the Microsoft Response Point Primer and Microsoft Small Business Server 2008 Blueprint.

 

Harry Brelsford is a long-time academic instructor at the graduate and undergraduate university levels. He has taught a wide range of subjects including Business Strategy, Information Technology, Operations Research, Project Management, Accounting, Finance,  and Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) courses. Harry has taught at Seattle Pacific University, Central Washington University, Alaska Pacific University, Chapman College/University, University of Alaska, Griffin College, Alaska Computer Institute.

Kevin S. Chen, Ph.D., CMC

DEAN - School of Business & Industry

Dr. Kevin Chen serves as Dean for the School of Business & industry at Aspen University. Dr. Chen has been a member of Aspen’s faculty since 2007, and is also active professionally as the President & CEO of Business Methods Corporation, a firm that provides small business management services, small business coaching, consulting & education.


Dr. Chen is active as a CMC (Certified Management Consultant) with the Institute of Management Consultants USA and serves as an Ambassador for the Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education.

Dr. Chen earned a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a specialization in the Management of Engineering & Technology from Northcentral University; a M.S. and B.S. in Management from Stevens Institute of Technology. In 2006, he received the NISOD award for teaching excellence as a Business Adjunct for the County College of Morris. In 2004, he received the Ronald Reagan Gold Medal for Entrepreneurship from the Business Advisory Council of the NRCC.




Dean - School of Criminal Justice

Ronald Henson, Ph.D.

DEAN – School of Criminal Justice

Dr. Ronald Henson serves as Dean for the School of Criminal Justice at Aspen University. Dr. Henson has been a member of Aspen’s faculty since 2007, and travels regularly across all 50 states as an independent drug and alcohol testing consultant. In this capacity he is regularly conducting drug and alcohol testing evaluations, research, forensic investigations, and providing expert testimony.


Dr. Henson is qualified as an expert in the field of alcohol and drug analysis, investigations, alcohol physiology / pharmacology, and workplace substance abuse testing in criminal, civil, and employment law cases across the United States.


Since 1979, Dr. Henson has served as a police cadet, police officer, police administrator, a police academy instructor at the University of Illinois, and a college professor of criminal justice at Iowa Wesleyan College.  He has served on several advisory and research committees related to law enforcement and drug and alcohol use/abuse issues.




Dean - School of Education

Lisa Reason, Ph.D.

DEAN – School of Education

Dr. Reason earned her Ph.D. in Education in 2006.  Her research and consulting agenda includes a focus on teacher leadership, collaboration strategies, and the impact of brain research and learning theory on instructional strategies and teacher performance. 


Dr. Reason has been a featured presenter at the national conferences of the University Council for Education Administration (UCEA), the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD). In 2007, Dr. Reason co-authored an article for ASCD’s most popular journal, Educational Leadership on the impact of inquiry on the learning process.  In 2008, she co-authored her first academic textbook for Aspen publishing. 

Dr. Reason has taught in urban, rural, and suburban settings and has worked successfully with students from a variety of economic and social backgrounds.  Dr. Reason resides in Scottsdale, Arizona with her husband and twin sons Brice and Kiah.

Dr. Kathleen Schachman, Ph.D.

DEAN – School of Health Professions and Studies

Dr. Kathleen Schachman, a native of Marquette, Michigan, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan in 1986. Following several years of experience in maternal-child nursing, Dr. Schachman completed her Master of Science in Nursing from Albany State University as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (Maternal-Child) and a post-Master's certificate as both a Family and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She has worked as a nurse practitioner in a variety of primary care clinics in the U.S. and overseas.

 

In 2001, Dr. Schachman earned a PhD in Nursing, with an emphasis in psychometrics. With nearly 20 years of teaching experience, Dr. Schachman has combined administrative, teaching, and research interests to enhance her current position.
